Case Study 1: Orchestra pit at St. Georges School for Girls, Ascot

The following photographs are of an ADM moving floor fitted into an orchestra pit at St. Georges School for Girls, Ascot.

A 12 x 3 metre moving platform enabled the pit floor to be raised to maintain a continuous surface within the school gymnasium for sports activities. Theatrical events could also take place when necessary creating a truly dual purpose space.

The mechanism was funded by Prince Andrew whose daughters both attend the school.
